For Culture Night 2026, the Virtual Museum of Art is delighted to collaborate once again with Berlin-based artist duo kennedy+swan.

Their work Mixed Signals is a series of augmented watercolours that combine physical painting with interactive digital worlds. Using the Mixed Signals app, each artwork can be scanned to reveal an augmented reality scene, extending the story beyond the image itself.

For this special online Culture Night event, anyone, anywhere in the world can take part. Simply open the artworks on your computer or another screen, use the app on your phone or tablet, and explore the hidden AR worlds.

The event will also feature a short interview with kennedy+swan, where they talk about their artistic practice, their use of augmented and virtual reality, and the ideas behind Mixed Signals.
